16. Stream Rocks, Amphibious
Members of this community are mostly not on cliffs or rocks away from valley floor; most are subject to inundation for part of winter and spring (amphibious) but some are capable of surviving in essentially aquatic conditions. Brachythecium figidum and Scapania undulata are intolerant of drying but like growing in the splash zone.
